How far is the airport from Ocean Park in Hong Kong?

People suggested going to Nathan road while I'm in Hong Kong for a few hours, but if I can help it, I'd rather see some stuff that's uniquely Hong Kong, and I heard good things about ocean park and all the things to see in and around there. is it far from the airport and is it worth going to? Is it close to Nathan Road if I wanted to take a peak at both?

I would not bother to go to Ocean Park, it is a theme park (albeit a nice one) similar to most theme parks in the USA or Canada. Spending a few hours in Nathan Road and Kowloon will get you the real Hong Kong feeling. I also like to hang out around the Des Voeux area up and down the little pedestrian streets where you can find stalls of fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, etc.

What i would do is go shopping at nathan rd then take the star ferry over the victoria harbor. you will be able to see the sky line and do a little shopping.

By the way, Ocean park is far from the airport and is just an amusment park not really a taste of hongkong. do what i said and you will be happy. Just remember that traffic can be murder at anytime so be careful.

For a "few hours" only I recommend Disney, which is very close to the airport. But IMHO it's not that special and really not "Hong Kong".

I would very much recommend Ngong Ping 360. Although the cable car is closed right now, there are buses to the Lantau locations.

  • If you are going to be in HK for a few hours, then don't go to Ocean Park. There is a long line up, by the time you get there, the few hours is up. DON'T go there unless you stay in HK for at least a week. Nathan Rd, MongKok ladies market is good for a few hours.
