Vacationing in SW USA (CA, AZ, UT, NV) with 3 kids between 5 and 10 years old?

What are some "unmissable" things to see and do in SW USA with kids? I need cheap, non-Commercial things to do (Not Disney or SD Zoo or stuff like that)...

Any Ideas?

first off THANK YOU for recognizing UT as part of the southwest! i've had numerous little bickers over it w/ dumb ppl! so in Ut and Az there's the grand canyon and tons of ancient indian villages and artifacts. also in Ut, there is Canyonlands National Park, Zions National Park, ect..., or you could just go camping anywhere in the SW if you'd like. you should try and go to utah's, arizona's, nevada's, and california's official websites, that'd be more helpful in my opinion.
