Why do Texans assume all sayings come from Texas?

It always seems that when a Texan goes to use a saying they start it off with "There's a saying from/in Texas...". It really only seems to me that its the Texans that do that and why do they think that every saying comes from Texas?

There's a saying where I'm from about what you just said...Yee haw! But seriously I live in Texas and when they find out I'm not from Texas, it starts off like that too. A lot of Texans have pride in themselves and their state, but yet never travelled out of it to see the rest of the world or Arkanas at that, they think Texas is so big, they have everything they need here.

Does Bernake have a Harvard degree? Dobbs does. It's a wet mop in the face that our government is forcing farmers to give up their land for a road nobody wants while they buckle under the slightest pressure from people losing land for security that over 75% of us not only want, but is our right.

Texans are southern version of New Yorkers. They believe they are superior to ever Southern state similar to how New Yorkers feel their city is better then all others.
