Looking for a file Search and Replace text program?

Does anyone know of a really good and Windows based search and replace text program that can work in batches?

I've got thousands of files I need to edit slightly, including small text inside the program, as well as renaming the extension of the file.

Thanks!

I use one for all of my sites called "Simple Search and Replace" that works wonders. It came as a freebie included with other programs, so let me pop over to my server and I will set up a link so that you will be able to download it for yourself. I have included the link at the bottom of Chatty Cathy & Friends our favorite downloads page 1.

    Hope this helps

Open the report, examine it right into a Java string, use the String replace approaches or Java's common expressions. Overwrite the unique report. that's the belligerent way. the added effective way might want to be to open the report, examine each and every line in a unmarried at a time, seem for the textual content you want to modify, if chanced on, write out the change (that's mandatory to diminish back the report pointer decrease back to the starting up of the line.

My favorite for this kind of task would be UltraEdit. It will do exactly what you need, you can batch it, and perform the same repetitive tasks on thousands of files at once. I normally prefer to write my own batch files and scripts, or I like to use freeware. This is one of those utilities that is so good that I have actually paid for, although it does have a free trial period to see if you like it.

Find & Replace http://download.cnet.com/Find-Replace/3000-2351_4-... . Used that with really good results. Intuitive interface and great file processing speed.
