try a no-kill animal shelter there are many in that area they will keep him until they find him a suitable non-abusive home or he passes from a natural death unless of course health reasons prevent this ie: cancer or some other canine disease. if he is well behaved and friendly they should not have any problem finding him a home. Even the SPCA may be able to take them however they may only keep him for a predetermined amount of time due to the high volume of animals they receive. I found one on yellow pages.ca but don't know if it's no-kill Langley Animal Protection Society 26220- 56 Avenue Aldergrove, B.C (604) 857-5055. You'll have to call them for more information about their policies. Hope this helps the old fellow out.

The dog is near the end of his life and NOW you wanna get rid of him? How cruel! Why don't you just let him stay in HIS HOME until he goes naturally?

There is no old folks home for dogs. Take him to the pound and they will just kill him.

Getting a dog is a commitment for life..HIS LIFE!! If you really are not willing to let him live out the rest of his days in his home, then find a rescue to take him..
