What is the difference between an Israelite and an Israeli?

    The former was their name before the State of Israel was established. The latter is their name now that Israel exists as a State, rather than a nation.

    No difference, except when/where the terms are used. In the Bible, the term Israelite is used, today we say Israeli.

    Israeli is modern. Israelite is ancient.

    one term is older than the other but they basically mean the same thing
