    I know the Pittsburgh Steelers was the first team in the NFL to have cheerleaders, but that was in the 1960's. They were called the Pittsburgh Steelerettes.

    The STEELERS had the first Cheerleading squad. They were using Duquene University's cheerleaders. I remember this coming out last year before the Superbowl. http://www.steelerettes.com/1961.htm
