Is the UFC intentionaly not letting George St. Pierre fight Matt Hughs for the title?

George St Pierre has only lost one fight in his carreer. It was against Matt a few years ago. George has beet every top fighter in the devision and could easily beat most of the fighters in the other devisions. George beat BJ Pen about 3 PPV ago and finally Dana White anounced the fight between George and Matt Hughs. Now on the last PPV they say George is injured and can't fight so they're giving the fight to BJ Pen. Is somthing up?.... Is it because he's Canadian. What do you think

Update:

In the Blog it doesn't sate he will be fighting Hughs... And can you send me a link with info about the law suit. My wife said it seemed like somthing was up. I guess maybe there isn't an injury at all... I like Matt he's a great fighter and a great guy but George really has proven he is the best

Update 2:

Matt Hughs has not faught anybody decent in a while. GSP has beaten every single fighter that has been put in front of him. Matt beat him with a lucky arm bar and in fact Matt was losing the round. Matt got choked out by BJ Penn, GSP beat BJ Penn. There is no fighter as good as GSP in the UFC right now.

I honestly hope misen55 is right, GSP deserves this title shot I was very disappointed when I heard he was injured and Penn was taking his place. I think it might have had something to do with the fact the BJ Penn is sueing the UFC for the rights to title of welterweight champion, under the lawsuit claimes are made that the UFC can no longer host a welterweight title match without Penn being in the fight, basically he is claiming that its still his belt and this fight might be part of a settlement in order for him to drop his claim. I thinks it bullsh.t and they should have come up with a new title fight rather than giving it to someone who just lost. GSP deserves his chance at the title and I just dont wanna see another last minute fightcard like Joe Riggs vs Matt Hughes a while back when Deisel couldn't make weight and then was so exausted from from cutting weight for two days (since he didnt make wieght on weigh in he continued to cut until about two hours before the fight) that he was in no condition to face hughes.

No, he has a legitimate injury and BJ Penn is the #2 contender behind St. Pierre. It has nothing to do with him being Canadian and to even imply that is shameful! Now would Matt Hughes vs. Diego Sanchez be a better fight, perhaps but if Dana White feels he's not ready yet, then he'll have to wait. Most likely he'll get a shot after Penn & St. Pierre have their's cause they'll be no one left tough enough to fight Hughes if either of those guys lose.

The reason B.J. was stripped of his title was because he breached a contract with the UFC. The title was vacant after that so they gave the title shot to Hughes after he got a win over Verrissimo. St. Pierr got a shot at the title after a string of wins over top competition. Hughes beat GSP and got the recently vacated title. GSP was recently injured so the most logical choice was to have Hughes fight Penn. I'm sure hughes wanted to face B.J. anyway to avenge his loss and to show that the first time was a fluke. Hughes fought carelessly the first time and I believe he will avenge his loss and eventually face GSP. Injuries happen and when they do you have to put somebody in there and there really isn't anybody in the WW division that deserves a shot right now. Some people would argue that Penn won the fight with GSP so logically he should get a shot.

GSP hurt his groin muscle. He will fight Hughes, just not this month. Dana's not stupid. He knows more people would like to see GSP and Hughes more than they want to see Hughes and Penn fight.

George is injured. Matt would fight him and kick his a-s-s.
