How to budget for UK Council Tax?
Hi, I am moving to London in Mid May. I am budgeting for Council Tax payments but I am not sure on the actual values. Meaning: I move in mid may, thus I pay only from then for the remainder of the year or, I ought to pay the full 12 months?
3 Answers4 weeks agoHow to pay tax on profits made from cryptocurrency??
Hi all. I'm about to cash out £10,000 in profits from cryptocurrency trading and just wondering how I go about paying tax on it? I've never had to do my own taxes before and currently employed full time and pay tax with PAYE so I am unsure how I go about paying taxes on a one off lump sum? I've heard from people that I can also claim it as a gift meaning I won't have to pay tax on it but I'm not sure if that's true or not. Thanks for any help in advance.

Recently brought my rig from 200mh up to just over 600mh. I noticed over the last 8 hours the reported hash rate stayed just over 615mh but my current hash rate dropped as low as 510mh. Should I expect fluctuations like this? Or is there be another problem with my rig?

3 Answers1 month agoDo I charge tax on freelance photography services? (UK)?
Hi, I have been doing some freelance photography work for a company part time, as an extra income on the side of my main job. We have agreed a price (£150) for the service and now i need to make an invoice, but do I need to charge any tax? (like service fees or VAT if applicable in the UK). These earnings are absolutely minimal, would work out less than £1,000 per year if that changes anything.
I've looked everywhere for an actual answer so anyone who can clarify this then I would be so grateful! - I'm completely new to all this...Thanks!.

I was wondering if it is possible because it would be much easier to pay capital gain tax for everyone at once.

I bought a few items from the USA and been warned by the seller that I'll have to pay import fees etc.
I have converted the money from usd to gbp below:
item cost: £104.40
Shipping: £18
Standard rate: £24.48 (unsure what standard rate is)
Would someone be able to advise on how I would work out the approximate costs of VAT & import fees etc., if any?

1 Answer2 months agoI am British. When I retire, if I live in USA will my state pension increase each year (as it would in U.K)?
Also, is there a list of countries where the U.K state pension WILL increase each year to compensate for inflation ?
( I know that in some countries it won't - which pretty much rules out moving there )
Thanks.
