Hi, I live in NYC and my son wears uniforms to school. Personally, I love uniforms. It's cheaper and easy. Now if you have a uniform store like Cookies http://www.cookieskids.com/ your school will be listed and all the items are ready for you to get out. I think the clothing regulations are for the upper grades (4th and up) because the hoodlums start young out here :( Plus, some idiot parents run with gangs and put the colors on their kids. Your best bet would be French Toast, Cookies, GAP, Old Navy, or Children's Place. Lands' End is too $$ They have navy vests/crewneck sweaters. Now for the regular clothes use them as play clothes/weekend gear. That's what I do with my son. Good luck!
Any suggestions of digital cameras for 7 year old?
My son is very accident-prone (like me). I wanted to get him one because he's going to overnight camp for the first time. He's into photography but I don't want to spend a lot of money on a camera. I'm looking for something sturdy and waterproof! Thanks!
5 AnswersCameras1 decade agoMy crown fell out! Why won't it stay put? What can I do until I see the dentist?
I got the porcelan/metal crown after a root canal in 2005 in a different state. It's the third right tooth from the front. The tooth has a post/core. When I went to my new dentist to have a different tooth (same side) pulled; she told me that the crown was loose and she re-cemented it at no charge.
When I was flossing this evening, the crown fell out. I rinsed the crown and it's soaking in Polident (denture cleaner) Why does it keep coming loose/falling out?
Please don't suggest super-glue because that stuff is toxic! Is there anything I can use to temporary affix the crown until I see the dentist?
Thanks!
1 AnswerDental1 decade agoMy friend wants to sell me his used MacBook pro w/ broken CD drive, should I buy?
The drive accepts discs but won't mount them; otherwise the computer works fine. It's not under Apple Care and he's willing to sell it for $300. Should I even bother? Thanks!
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoPunk rawk heads/ 90s indie music freaks: name these songs!?
I know I'm old as heck. I had these on cassette. The band/song titles long gone. Now I can't find the cassette. :-(
Song 1: "it's a game/some game/ that anyone can play"
Song 2: "last night at the movies"
Thanks so much!
3 AnswersLyrics1 decade agoWhy does my stove's pilot light keep going out?
I have a Magic Chef gas oven (model no. 8113P560-60R) in my apartment. The pilot light won't stay on for more than a day or two. Only one or two burners will light. The oven flame is intermittent as well.
This is becoming aggravating.
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoI'm trying to rent an apartment w/bad credit?
They do credit checks. Both my hubby and I have bad credit. We have no evictions. I'm a student on disability and have a PT job lined up. DH works 40 hr/wk. We've only had one late payment in the past two years. Will we get rejected? Should we even bother to apply? The reason I was thinking of applying is that someone told me that this particular complex was willing to work with people.

2 AnswersPDAs & Handhelds1 decade agoIs Swiffer WetJet anti-bacterial solution safe for wood floors?
I checked out swiffer.com and they have a solution specifically for wood floors. Swiffer also offers an anti-bacterial solution that claims it's safe for wood floors. Anyone have experience with both solutions? Which one works better? Thanks!

2 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoCleaning Lady or not?
I go to school part-time. I also take care of my 5yo son who has PDD-NOS (an autism spectrum disorder.) I take to doctor's appointment about two days a week on public transportation.
When I get home all I can do is cook and tidy the bathroom. When I ask my DH to wash dishes he gets upset. I brought up the cleaning lady yesterday and he told me it was too expensive. But the house is getting messier and messier by the day and DH expects me to clean as if I stay at home.
Should I get a cleaning lady? If so, how many times/week?
Thanks.

1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoHow do you add colour to an apartment that you can't paint?
I lean toward modern furniture. So far I have the IKEA Klippan loveseat in dark blue and the white ILEN TV stand. I love colour and the first thing I usually do when I move in a place is paint the walls. Unfortunately, the management doesn't allow painting the walls. What else can I do? Thanks in advance!
