  • What should I write as an agreement for privately selling my car?

I am in the process of privately selling my car, and I have someone who is interested in making payments to me, which is fine, I’m just a little nervous about how badly this could back fire on me. Obviously I would get everything in writing, but if worst case scenario he screws me over, I cannot afford to pursue legal action. I was thinking about writing something like “the seller would maintain ownership of the vehicle until all payments are made, and in the event payments are missed the seller has the right to have the car returned with force of the law if needed.”

This way if he does try to take it, I wouldn't need to go to court or anything, I could just call the police and report it stolen. Am I correct in this assumption or no? We have both agreed that I would keep the title until payments were made, but I don’t want to screw myself on this.

Are there any other clauses I should put in there? Any advice on what the agreement should look say in general?

  • Should my old landlord be responsible for fees?

My old landlord didn't cut off the automatic payment for our rent in time so an extra month's rent came out. They are returning it to us, but since $900 that we weren't expecting, came out of our account, our new rent bounced. We are now looking at $240 in fees for our rent bouncing that I believe my old landlord should be responsible for. Am I correct, or no?

  • Would it be worth persuing legal action against my former land lord?

I had a similar question a while back (https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140... but now I'm considering legal action and want to know if it would even be worth it.

Long story short, my landlord said I could have my dog when I signed the lease, but a few months after moving in he got a notice from the HOA saying dogs over 35 lbs weren't allowed and I had to get rid of her or pay a $50/day fee. My landlord then falsified our lease saying that I was never told I could have the dog. We sorted that out and I consented to let the dog stay at my dads until I could find another place to live. He agreed, which he later said the owner never consented and made it seem like we weren't going to get to leave. The owner agreed but wouldn't let us leave in the middle of the month, so we stayed until July 30, 2014. We cleaned the apartment, but didn't scrub from top to bottom because we didn't expect our deposit back anyways. They then took August rent and told us they were reversing it and sending the money back. I called today because it wasn't back and they said they were disappointed in how the house was left and they were being generous in giving us back the money they took as August rent. I told them that's what they deposit was for and they had no right to take the extra money in the first place. They are saying they'll be "generous enough" to give it back, but this has been such a pain that I want to know if I can sue for the trouble of it all???

  • What can I do about the sprinklers at my apartment?

We just moved into an apartment and was informed the sprinklers come one once at 2 PM. I thought this was strange since I thought you weren't supposed to water at the hottest time, but I didn't think anything else of it.

We started moving in that night and around 6 PM when we were bringing in our mattress of all things; the sprinklers came in once again. We got the mattress inside as soon as possible, but it got wet. This was frustrating because we had to stop, and when we picked back up they came on again at 11 AM. There are 2 sprinklers that hit our front and back door, and there is a gap under the front door, the floor gets soaked EVERY time. This morning when I was leaving for work, the sprinklers were on and I couldn't get out without getting completely soaked in my work clothes.

Every other place I've lived watered in the middle of the night, and I have never had this issue and don't know what to do. It’s a huge inconvenience not to mention they are drowning the lawn. It’s always soaking wet which makes walking my dog quite the adventure. . I know that this can’t be good for the lawn so I don’t understand why they feel the need to water at least 4 times in the day. I’ve talked to them and they just laughed it off saying “the things we do for a green lawn”… I literally just stared. They don’t seem to have any intentions of changing their watering habits and I’m already fed up after only living here 72 hours. What can I do?

  • Landlord breaking promise?

Back in October 2013 I signed a lease with the property manager for the owner of the house. The lease explicitly said that I could have my golden retriever dog as long as I made the pet deposit, so I did. Then 6 months later in March I get this nasty letter saying that the HOA found out I had the dog and it wasn't permitted in my lease (they even sent over a bogus copy of my lease that said dogs weren't allowed). I then rebutted with my copy of the lease that said I could have the dog that they signed.

Through lots of arguing and frustration, they told me that I could get out of the lease because they understood I couldn't live without my dog... this part was in an email. Where they got me was when they told me over the phone that I could stay until June when another apartment I wanted became available and as long as I gave 30 days notice, I could leave whenever. I asked for this in writing because I knew the lease mentioned that no verbal agreements will be honored. They refused to put it in writing because of some bull that they couldn't make an agreement that would allow me to trash the house with no repercussions. I insisted but they kept telling me, over the phone, they wouldn't do it, but they would put a note in our file that this was the agreement. Well now that I gave notice they are saying no such agreement was made and I can't leave without penalty costs. I know I was stupid for not getting the agreement in writing, but is there anything I can do now?

  • Adding aux in to 2004 ford Taurus factory stereo?

I've been reading online all morning and I can't figure out whether this is possible or not.

Someone told me that the back of the stereo has an AUX-in, you just have to take the back off, plug it in and then moving the cord through the glove box, but I haven't seen that to be true yet, any ideas?

I read somewhere else today that there is something in the trunk?

I'm really confused. My main goal obviously is to be able to use my iTouch instead of listening to the radio with a last resort being an FM-transmitter. I have one of those now and there are times where it can't pick up a single station without it going in and out or being insanely staticy,

If someone has some answers on if there is actually an aux in port on the back of my radio or if there is a way to bypass an fm transmitter without buying a whole new stereo with the aux in port.

    Thanks in advance

  • Renters rights for turning on utilities in Colorado?

I am renting a townhouse in Colorado and it says in my lease that I have to turn the utilities over to my name within 1 day of moving in. I have set them up to automatically switch the day I move in, but there is a $30 fee because the utilities were turned off while no one was renting. My landlord is saying that it's the owners rights to turn off utilities while it's not being occupied, but is it really my responsibility to pay the turn on fee? It doesn't say anything about it in my lease except for the fact that if they are turned off while I'm renting, I have to pay any fees or damages associated with that.

Should I press the issue, or just pay the fee?

  • tips for recurrent bacterial vaginosis (women)?

My husband came home from Afghanistan in November of last year and for the first three months or so everything was fine, and then all the sudden I started getting these bacterial infections that were awful. I went to my OB/Gyn and they diagnosed it, gave me a vaginal cream that got rid of it. Then within a few weeks it came back, and I did the same thing. This time my OB/Gyn gave me a cream for the BV and a yeast infection even though I wasn't coming back positive for the YI, she just wanted to be sure. Same story, it went away for a bit then came back. I did just the BV treatment again and this time when it came back I just started using RePhresh vaginal cream every 3 days or so and that really helped. Unfortunately it’s really expensive and doesn't treat the BV (which neither did the medication really). I eat healthy, I exercise, I clean with a soap designed for keeping the bacteria level normal, I drink loads of water, I make sure my husband is clean before we have sex, and I’m starting to take a probiotic that my gynecologist said would help.

I guess I’m looking for solutions other women have found to be helpful to get rid of recurring Bacterial Vaginosis (BV). The smell is embarrassing and the itch can be unbearable sometimes. What is a recurrent BV girl to do???

  • How to catch him cheating?

Me and my new husband have been married three months now. I caught him texting another girl one whole month into our marriage. We had this huge blow up and it was awful, but we went to a marriage counselor who helped us work some stuff out. I was just starting to trust him again, when my best friend sat me down the other day and told me he was chatting on facebook with her little sister that he met at their New Years Eve party this year. Mostly it was just stupid flirting, but there was this one message that said “I want to play hide the Nazi with you”. Which if you don’t know what that means in today’s slang (like I didn’t) look it up on urban dictionary. The conversation was talking about basketball and how he wanted to play with her, because that’s what they were talking about at the party, so when I asked him about what it meant he said it was a game he used to play in high school. He sounded sincere, but I googled it as a basket ball game and nothing came up… zero. So I’m pissed about the flirting, but as far as I know that’s as far as either of the situations went, and I can forgive him for that eventually. What I need to know is if he is actually seeing someone, whether it’s just going out, or sleeping with another girl, I feel like that’s a level I can’t forgive and I need to know. I’ve tried being honest about my pursuit, but he deletes messages and covers his tracks now that he knows I’m on to him. I need to find out if his wandering eye has moved off the internet and into reality, how do I do that. I thought about buying a facebook page already established with friends, and friending him to see what he does, but I don’t know if he’ll go for that cause he just deleted all his girl friends after the fight we had about my friends sister. My friend is telling me I should leave him, because if he was doing it with her sister, he has to be doing it with other girls. She wants to break our seven year friendship over this because she disagrees with me decision to not leave him. I just love him so much, and as mad about all this as I am, I just can’t leave him over some flirting message. I have to find out one, if he really did know that “hid the nazi” was, and two, if he has taken any of these flirtations offline and into reality. What should I do? At this point I’m not above being sneaky, cause I just have to know, and I’m not getting anywhere asking honestly. What should I do?

  • Finance advice for a 20 something (what do you wish someone told you when you were young about money)?

I am 20 years old, about to get married. I am fairly well of in my career ( I make $30,000 a year) and while filing my taxes the tax preparer talked about putting some money away in an HSA and an IRA. Right now I have a savings account that I put money into from each paycheck, but I know I should be doing more.

Now my fiancée has some debt, but we aren't joining our bank accounts until December of this year and he wants to pay down some of that before then. I have no debt, but also no real credit. I have a credit card that I put a tank of gas on once a month in order to get some credit, but he has bad credit because he has student loans out against him.

What advice do you have for me that you wish someone told you at my age?

What advice do you have about joining bank accounts with my husband and getting our finances on track as a unit?

The HSA and IRA are the one’s I’m already working on, but I wanted to get some advice from some other people as to what other wise investments I should make now before I have kids and such.

  • How to ask for a bonus from my boss for finishing a project that just landed him a huge paycheck?

I have just spent the last two years at my job working to get the incentive the Obamacare has promised to the physicians that jump on board early on. We have finally just received the first payment of $40,000. I have already started on the next phase and we will be getting another payment of something around $60,000 by the end of this year or early next year. I am wondering how I go about asking for a part of that as a bpnus. It has been my whole job at my office for the last two years like I said, and he even said he couldn’t have done it without me. For my Christmas bonus I get $500 and I’m wondering what kind of bonus would be acceptable to ask from this amount, and how I would go about doing that. I hate sounding like I am entitled to something, but I have worked really hard on this, and it’s nowhere close to being finished seeing as there are four more payments expected if we go the whole way. I feel like I should get some sort of bonus, but I don’t know what’s fair or how to approach it.

Note: when I was hired, this was not in my job description, it was a job I took on as I "climbed the ladder". It was in my description when I got my raise along with all the office managers duties without the pay for it.

  • What to wear to an army military ball?

This February I will be attending my first military ball with my fiancee. I've read all the blogs about do's and don't from military wives, but I can't find anything that looks like what they are saying. I'm looking for something light blue because he wants me to match his infantry cord, but everything looks like a prom dress. Does anybody know good places to find a dress, and any other pointers about the dress or what I can expect at the ball would be so helpful.

  • How to deal with a hostile co-worker?

I have been working at my job now for just under two years. I have moved up from front desk to the doctor's administrative assistant. In this office there is lots of turnover, so I am the oldest along with the one with the most responsibility because my boss doesn't want a manager. I'm only 20, but I know this office, our policies, and our system like the back of my own hand. There is a woman here that is twice my age and whenever I ask her to do something or tell her she's made a mistake that needs to be fixed she transforms into this child throwing a temper tantrum. She has now stomped out of the office three times when she wasn't supposed to, and I hear her mumbling things under her breath, or talking to one of the other girls about me. I understand I'm young and I can work through that with everybody but her. For some reason she feels like she can treat me like this, like she's entitled to something, and I've taken it from her. I have tried just talking to her about it and apparently this gave her the right to call me "an entitled brat" and that I'm making things up to make sure nobody invades my "territory". I wouldn't mind if someone helped me out, and I know I have worked hard for what I have. She has been here a year and only recently started acting like this. What do I do next? Am I wrong in feeling like this?

  • How do I get rid of "daily deals" extension on google chrome?

So somehow this extension was downloaded onto my chrome, firefox, and internet explorer. I have tried uninstalling and re installing chrome and firefox (not internet explorer cause if I have to resort to using that I'd rather just deal with the stupid extension in chrome ;) and installing them again, but no such luck. When I go to chrome settings and extensions there is a list of all my extensions like avast, Skype, etc, and then "daily deals". The only thing is for the ones I want there is a "enabled" check cox you can un-check and a little trash can next to it. "daily deals" has the check box but no way to unclick it and no trash can. How am I supposed to get rid of it if it's not actually on my computer, and chrome won't let me disable it????

  • Why can't I take a deep breath?

So for some reason I can't breath. When I take a really deep breath I don't get that satisfied feeling of inhaling all the way. Then I'll get a little dizzy like I've got too much oxygen. Then I notice that I'll either stop breathing all together or take really short staggered breaths. Then I try and take another deep breath and when I don't hit that point where it feels like my lungs are full, I freak out and start trying to get that feeling and push myself on the verge of hyperventilation. My pulse ox is normal, but I'm freaking out. Help!

  • Fine, medium length, layered, LIFELESS hair- what can I do?

I've been reading all the "summer hair tips" and I feel like they only apply to girls with longer thicker hair. My longest layer (I'm trying to grow it out) barely hits my collar bone, and I have very fine strands. I can't braid my hair (my shortest layer hits the end of my nose) or put it in a bun. I use Wen hair care and really like it; use it every four days. I only use a root booster, and a heat protector and a roller brush every day, but by five o'clock my hair is limp and lifeless. Seems like if I don't use any product it splits under any heat. If I don't use a blow dryer, I have no volume. When I do use product (even just a heat protector) it ends up just looking oily and yet again limp. If I wash my hair every day then it'll progressively get worse and oilier to the point of needing to wash it more than once a day.

Is there anything I can do to stop fighting my hair and let it work for me?

    Help!

  • What should my first credit card be?

I'm 19 years old, live with a roomie that had good enough credit to make it where my parents didn't have to co sign, I bought my own car cash a few months back, and have a great job where I'm putting at least $100+ out of each paycheck in savings. When my lease is up (in October) me and my roomie are splitting and I want to see if I can build my credit now so I don't have to pay extra, have a cosigner ect. when I live on my own. I don't even know if it's possible to do in such a short period of time, but I figure I need good credit anyways so I might as well start now when I'm in such a good place. What is the best kind of credit card should I get? And what kind of rewards are best for me to be looking for at this point. I was thinking something like a gas or a grocery credit card, but I'm so clueless I don't know whats good and what isn't. Any pointers would be appreciated!

  • Thin hair that won't grow as long as I want, what can I do?

So I have really thin hair, but a lot of strands. In other words, when I put my hair in a ponytail it'll be the same width as someone who's hair is medium thick.Anyways because I have so much hair I can't get any volume into it at all. I've tried everything I can think of and it'll be fine in the morning, but by mid afternoon/ evening it's completely flat. Fly aways are my worst enemy. By the time I get home from school the ends of my hair are all over the place, and it just looks like I haven't brushed it in days. My split ends aren't bad and I use heat protectors, and root lifter/ volumizer from chi and a moisturizing shampoo from bed head. Anyways all of this adds up to me not being able to grow my hair long and HEALTHY. It's at my shoulders now and when it starts to get longer the ends split so fast. Is there any help for this?
