How can I owe a balance when I've not even used C.C. yet?

Several weeks ago I applied for a credit card and was approved.  The card came a few weeks later and I've probably had it activated maybe 2 weeks. This weekend I received a statement from the CC company saying I owed $75 even thought the beginning balance was showing at zero dollars and I've not even used the card.  How is it I owe  bill and the card has never been used?

What are some money tips once you have a credit card?, and what are some things i should consider at 20 ?

I make $813 a month, and I'll say 200 of that is just my little bills(PSN,XboxLive,Music). Then my one solid phone bill. I want to make more money, but I also just applied  for a credit card. I'm trying to set myself up to only use my credit card, but the limit right now is 500. I heard you shouldn't use your credit card for everything. My original plan was to just use the credit card for everything, and only use my bank card when i need it cash or to pay the credit card. That way i save, and build credit. Also is it okay to transfer all of my my bills to credit card or keep them on my bank card ? At the end of the day I'm just trying to start building some type of a financial base.

Is it legal for collection agency to remove a collection from report but sell collection to another agency?

To better clarify, a collection agency removed a collection from my credit reports after I disputed it. My credit scores increased and was doing well. 5 months later, I see a new collection on my credit report. It is in the same amount as the old collection so I know that the old collection agency must have sold my collection to this new agency. My credit score has gone down significantly because of this. So, is this legal?

Do you think I did anything wrong in this situation with this woman’s credit card?

Today at my retail job, this woman at my register paid for her items with her credit card. She then decided she didn’t want anything after all but it was too late because her card was already accepted. So I told her I’ll just scan her receipt and then return everything. And I told her to enter her card back into the chip slot. To my surprise, she comes back maybe 10 or 15 minutes later yelling and screaming because she tried to buy something at the jewelry counter but her card was declined. And she was accusing me of preventing her from buying food for her family and she was demanding me to give her money back. So I called my manager over and she told her that it takes about 48 hours for money to go back on to a credit card. Is there anything I could’ve done differently or is this just a hot-headed *****?

I'm afraid my home loan will now get denied?

So my boyfriend stupidly went and opened a Lowes credit card and bought a dishwasher right before our house closing and his original credit report was 790 to 760. He did pay off the dishwasher in full so he owes nothing but I'm afraid we will now be denied home loan because he opened that card

Can a service i used in the past charge my card again without my authorization?

I used a service and they have this card on their records. Months later they contacted me and said they "forgot to charge me for shipping" and send me an invoice with a ridiculous amount on it. I refused to pay but now i see it in "upcoming payments" on my card. How is this possible??? I contacted the card company only to be told that if they charge me i can dispute it. But i want to know if such thing is possible, is it legal and how to prevent it because i see they wont stop. Should i change my card? What should i do?

Why can't you use store credit to buy gift cards?

I returned something and received store credit for it. I tried to get a gift card with the store credit. The cashier said "Store Credit is not a legal tender for gift cards" I said it is my money and I can't get a gift card with MY MONEY. If I wanted a gift card I needed to give them more money to purchase it.

Is this illegal to do with a prepaid debit card?

My debit card charges a monthly fee unless I deposit $500 each month. So what if I were to deposit $500 which is free to do then withdraw it which is also free to do and redeposit that same $500 every month to avoid paying a monthly fee?

Can they ban me for doing this?

Why do some people get so mad when I tell them they may not enter their credit card number,  the card must be present or no sale?

A lot of people claim they don't have their card but have the number, but I think more frequently, that means they stole the number. So we don't allow it.

The collection agency is Paragon Revenue Group. My medical bills are from atrium health. These bills are from 2018 but my credit score just showed up a few months ago so I’m not sure about them disappearing any time soon. Thanks for the help anyways.

How can I improve my credit score? ?

    Favorite Answer:

Avoid opening any new lines of credit. Pay all your bills in full and on time. Be patient.  Credit scores do not increase quickly.  Expecting a dramatic increase in just a few months is unrealistic

Do authorized users on credit cards get a separate bill?

    Favorite Answer:

You are an authorized user on his credit card account, not a separate account. All charges will appear on a single bill sent to him.

It's a good habit to keep all your receipts. It would be easy to have an envelope of your purchases on this card, so you can spot the items on his bill easily, and/or tally the total and reimburse him before he even pays the total.

How can I pay for home maintenance without a credit card?

I inherited a 125 year-old Victorian house in which the upkeep was very neglected. Needs roofing, wiring, plumbing, painting and could also used some energy efficient doors and windows. I've tried hiring contractors and they come and look over the work but I never hear from them again. I was telling a friend and she said it may be because I don't have a credit card. The workmen look up my credit rating and nothing shows, so that scares them off. I don't like paying cash - that way there's no recourse if the repair goes sour.

You'll say, "Just get a credit card." I am afraid of identity theft - I've had several relatives wiped out because of credit card problems. Other than the house, my needs are few - I don't travel and auto dealers are willing to accept a bank check for a car purchase, so I never had a reason to have a card.

My brother committed identity theft. what can I do?

So this is kind of a complicated family issue that we have going on. I am extremely upset at how all this unfolded. My mom use to run a business and was on a verge of filing for chapter 7 not that long ago until I bailed her out and paid off all of her debt which was about $30k. I have a lot money stashed in my brokerage account but it still took a lot out of me to shell out $30k. Her credit still took a hit after months of delinquent payments. Fast forward to today, we were re-building her credit score back up to where it was and then I noticed my dumbs older brother opened 3 credit cards under her name and one of them is already 3 months past due of $200 and that dropped her score right back down by 200 points! I was LIVID! My brother is 2 years older than me, dirt broke, still mooches off my mom, and now is stealing money from her and opening credit cards under her name - ruining her credit score with no care in the world. My mom told me that she gave him her social for whatever reason - I told her many times to not trust my brother because I know what kind of person he is. He was sued before for stealing $30k from his employer. So I know what Im talking about when it comes to my brother. How can I go about this? Can I file a report to my local police and will they do anything about it since my mom was the one who gave him her social?

    Remove Student Debt Charge Off?

I had a private student loan, which due to a misunderstanding (on my part) ended up becoming delinquent.  At the time I tried to work out a plan with them to pay back the amount.  I was just getting into my career and was not in a good place financially, but i was willing to pay something.  They were unwilling to work with me, they even went as far as telling me to have my parents cash in their 401k for me.  I reached out to a few experts on credit and they had told me to not contact them and let the Debt be charged off and wait 7 years until it was removed from my credit report.  It has been about 9 years since this happened, and I am trying to get a preapproval for a mortgage, but I cant get one with a reasonable rate/limit because that is still on my report.

Should I challenge that item on my credit report to see if it can be removed?  Do i need to pay the amount in full to get it removed (wouldnt that reset my 7 year clock)?  Is there another way to get it removed?

    Thanks for your help!

A sidenote, I already paid the taxes on the full amount when it was written off.
