  • Short transit tour of Brussels?

    Hi,

I'm planning to go to Barcelona from India and my flight stops in Brussels for a whole day (8am - 9pm). I have a valid schengen visa.

    1. Can I leave the airport and spend the day in Brussels? Or do I need any special documents/permission for that?

    2. If yes, which is best - a walking tour or a bus tour?

    3. Any special must-see sights that can be done in a few hours? I like art, books and good food :)

Any other tips/recommendations will be great!

    Thanks in advance..

  • submitting documents before offer letter is issued?

I've been approached by an MNC for a good technical writer post. While they are extremely eager to have me on-board, they have not given me any written offer. But their HR wants to have copies of my last job offer letter and payslip, asap. Is this what's the procedure these days, to ask for documents before the offer is issued? Any advice...??

BTW, I have not decided - yet - if I am going to work for them. It depends on if they agree to my expected salary, which the HR knows.

  • what is that german serial that showed on TV during the 90s?

this is the vaguest of clues but here it goes:

The episodes were an hour's duration, and the serial is was some kind of a spy/mystery thriller. I don't remember much about it at all, which is pretty maddening :(. It was german, but dubbed in english I guess...

    1. the hero is named PAUL and he is always on the run. he was handsome in a tall, lanky way and he was always nervous and doubtful

    2. The herione is a beautiful brunette, cool customer, who works for the villian

    23. The villian is a bearded character wearing rimless spectacles, who has some magic hold on the herione

I know this is very little clues, but arrggg, i have been wondering about this for the past 2 decades somebody help plsss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • which London salon is best for fine, thin hair?

Any advice on which salon has good stylists who can cut fine, thin hair? Preferably in Richmond or Chiswick area would be good... I see shops like HEADMASTERS, HAIR etc, are they any good?

I don't want to go to central London bcos I went into this swanky chain and the stylist was so much of disdain about my hair, she kept saying oh your hair is so thin and I felt terrible and ran out of the salon... it's not my mistake that I have crappy hair :( I had small pox when I was a kid and my hair never really was fine after that.

Anyways, it will be great if somebody can guide me on this. Thanks!

  • Cayman Islands - UK or US visa?

I want to visit Caymans Islands for a few weeks during winter. I have a UK working holidaymaker's visa, valid till 2010. I see that Cayman is a British Overseas territory... so am I eligible to get temp work (like nanny, home helper etc) in Cayman? Or should I apply for a separate work permit?

  • if currently living in UK, need visa to visit USA?

This is a query from my friend -

"I am citizen of India. I'm currently residing in UK on work permit. So, if I want to visit US for tourism purpose, can I do it under the visa waiver program, for which UK qualifies? Or, should I get a visa and only then go to US?"

  • November weather in Shropshire…?

I have an option of going to Shropshire in Nov 2008 or May 2009. I almost chose November don’t want to wait long, but people tell me that it will be frosty and bleak in Nov. Is it true? It’s going to be my first visit to UK and I’d rather not be bundled up!

  • EPEC - how many visits?

    Hi,

I am an Indian citizen and I currently live in India. The following 2 questions are very tricky and nobody seems to know the answer to them. Hope I can find some answers here!

    1. I want to apply for my EPEC. In case I am lucky enuf to get it, can i use it to go to Singapore from India many times? That is, if EPEC is valid for 1 year, can i make ANY number of trips from my coountry to singapore? or is EPEC valid for ONE return journey only?

    2. Also, I'm going to Singapore next month....this particular trip is a leisure one and is for a week's duration only......so, if my EPEC is approved now, can i just keep it at home and apply for an ordinary tourist visa to go Singapore next month?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Khao Kheow Open Zoo - transportation from Pattaya?

    Hello friends,

I want to see the night safari at Khao Kheow Open Zoo... but online reviews tell me that it is difficult to enjoy it without a car. We are tourists, so we don't own a car.... is it possible to hire a taxi from North Pattaya to the zoo? How much would it cost? Any names, contact numbers/email ids of tourists companies?

More importantly, the night safari gets over at 9pm... so can I get a taxi or a baht bus back to Pattaya from the zoo? And how safe it is to do that in the night?

    Thanks for your help!

  • East Sea Resort + Sarita Chalet, Pattaya?

    Hello friends,

My family and I are planning to stay at either one of these resorts, but it's very hard to find reviews on them, except for their business websites.

    http://www.eastsearesort.net/ - North Pattaya, cottage-style

    http://www.saritachalet.com/ - Jomtien, mid-rise

Either they're too new for e-reviews... or there's something fishy... If anybody has stayed in either of these resorts, please let me know your thoughts on the resort!

  • Places to avoid in Bangkok & Pattaya... advice pls?

    Hi,

It's going to be our - me, my parents and my brother - first visit to Thailand. I'm planning to stay at ASHA GUESTHOUSE (Suttisarn Road. Saphan Khwai, Phayathai) in Bangkok and at the ROYAL CENTURY PATTAYA (Central Pattaya Road, Chonburi) in Pattaya. I want to know if these hotels are located in a decent (or at least semi-decent) neighbourhood. I have some very critisizing family members accompanying me and do not want to end up getting kicked by them!

Also, please advice me on what places (streets/neighbourhoods) to AVOID in Bangkok and Pattaya... we are not nightlife kind of tourists, we are strictly into Thai culture+food tourism :)

    Thanks,

    Radhika

  • Day trip packages in Thailand... are they a rip-off?

    Hello people,

A gentleman to my previous question about day tour packages in Thailand has answered that they are too expensive. Now I'm wondering... I see many "full day trips" and "half-day trips" marketed on the Net, to Bangkok's and Pattaya's key attractions such as Grand Palace Tour, Canals Tour, Kanchanapuri tour etc.

Most of these cost anywhere from 750 baht to 1600 baht per person. Are they all too costly? Can I just take the bus or skytain to the Palace or the famous temples in Bangkok? And is it possible to go to the Floating Market (Bangkok) or to Coral Island (Pattaya) on our own? It would super-cool if I can do that!

Well, I'm not trying to be a cheapskate or something, just that I'm on a real tight budget, as I am taking my family (my parents and 16-yr-old brother) on their first overseas trip...and would love to get some advice on this from locals. Thanks in advance!
