My daughters first employer requested her birth certificate for their payroll. They would not take a copy, they insisted on the original. After a couple of months my daughter decided that the job and environment was not for so she gave two weeks notice. They asked her to leave and told her that they would return the Birth Certificate when she retuned a washed uniform. She promptly returned a freshly washed uniform and the owner refused to give her the Birth Certificate or her check! Just saying, that he was too busy and would put it in the mail! She waited two weeks for the envelope which NEVER came!! The restaurant is three blocks away!! When she went to ask for an explanation…. TWO weeks after the birth certificate and check should have been returned, the owner just said "IT SHOULD BE THERE SOON!" It has now been a month and a half! NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND NO CHECK!! The owner now wants her to send him a picture of the inside of our empty mail box!! I AM AT THE END OF MY ROPE!! I have stayed away, trying to let my daughter handle this situation. What should we do? The owner of this place is getting on MY NERVES!! Take a picture? SERIOUSLY? And he also said "DON'T WORRY!! I WILL GIVE YOU THE $30.00 IT TAKE TO GET ANOTHER BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!" I am done sitting back and letting this man take advantage of my YOUNG daughter! BUT… I am not sure how to handle this situation!! Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!
