What does it mean to see my dog covered in ants and roaches?

I saw my dog sitting in the corner looking super sad.  As I approached him, I saw a single line of ants moving in his direction.  As I got closer, I saw more ants crawling on him.  I started to brushed them off of him when a single spider crawled out from under him.  I am afraid of spiders, and even in my dream I was conscious of my fear, but I love my dog.  I took a deep breath and killed it with my shoe - except it took a few tries for it to die. As I continued to brush spiders off of him, I noticed a few bumps from under his fur. I lifted his fur and realized that he had roaches under it.  Looked at his eyes and he looked afraid. I am disgusted of roaches, but in a panic started to grab them with my bare hands and removed them from him. I could sense my desperation to free him from it all.  That is all that I remember, except I have not been able to shake off that feeling. What does all of that mean?
