    You ate ALL that?

    Good nutritional content is

    - HALF of your plate being veggies (not corn or potaatoes since they are mostly just starch).

    - One-quarter some form of protein ... in your meal, protein comes from the chicken, the lentils, the peas, the baked beans. You overdid that.  Too much protein can damage your kidneys.  You don't want to have to spend half of every 3rd day on a dialysis machine while you wait for a kidney transplant.

    - One-quarter some form of COMPLEX carbohydrates. Brown rice, quinoa, products made with whole-wheat glour (whole-wheat pasta or whole-wheat bread).  Avoid white flour products and avoid sugar.

The "one-quarter" servings should be NO bigger than the size of the palm of your hand.  But eat as many veggies as you want.

Throw out the mashed potatoes, the gravy, the biscuits, the creamed corn, the cranberry and stuffing, and the chocolate cake and rootbeer float .. and you are STILL eating TOO much. But at least you are eating healthy.

Keep up eating like you do, and you will end up with diabetes. struggling to keep blindness and amputation away, while shouldering the high cost of keeping yourself alive, and injecting insulin daily.  Diabetes makes your blood "thick" and your body and organs slowly die from lack of oxygen and nutrients ...  it takes your body bit by bit.
