How exactly did you know you weren't Heterosexual?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I hope this isn't rude. Just questioning a lot right now.

I'm trans but before I realized I was trans, I thought I was lesbian. I just honestly didn't feel anything towards guys.
...but now I'm a bi guy...

No...Not a stupid question. BOt took me a long time to admit this to myself. And this al was in the 1960s. No support groups, in my small town.
I was about 13 years old. Everybody else was falling in love with girls, I had no attraction to them. But got strange sensations from guys in the school locker room.
But, I tried to put this out of my mind, for years. I think I was about 16 when I had to admit this to ,myself. After reading books, from the public library-- books were hard to get too. I don't know exactly when I finally figured it out.
My parents died without ever me telling the m. They may have figured it out.

When Tom excited me and Mary didn't.
Source(s): Scientifically, being around Tom caused my penis to grow stiff. Being around Mary caused it to become limp. I call it an external indicator. - 2 weeks ago
In primary school and secondary school I had a crush on this one girl so I knew I was straight but when I started secondary school I started noticing cute boys so I knew but denied for ages that I was gay too, so now I'm bi and dating a guy

During high school, I noticed I didn't get as excited about boys as the other girls did. I saw guys as friends and it was hard to think of a connection more than that. I couldn't get the fascination with celebrities and thinking of guys as "cute" or "hot."

i was spacing off in class one day and realized that i didn't want to be just friends with this one girl. the signs were there since i was like five though. sometimes I'll look back and think about little things that i did and just wonder how i didn't know i liked women.

You can look up the meanings of the words, Homosexual (gay,) Bisexual (bi) and heterosexual (straight.)
Now when we speak about being attracted to, clearly its about emotional and sexually type attracted. While you may like your dog for example, as last night you were not jerking off thinking about it, then its not the same sexual attracted to.
By age 16 you must have taken the little fella in hand more then a few times, you would also have gone looking for porn on line and when in school or out in the community you must have seen others who you have though you would like to kiss and cuddle and do more with them. Now clearly this attraction does not cover every person you encounter. So using the ones you are that provides the answer.
As a male. If you only have this desire for guys then you are gay. If you have desires for both guys and girls then your bisexual and if only for girls your straight.
When we talk about these desires, for some they fluctuate. Grow and subside through time, some people actively choose to ignore or reject their feelings.
All that said, a period of non interest or of rejection does not eliminate the feelings. In other words a bisexual person who rejects one side to his sexuality does not change his sexuality, neither does say a gay man who choose to not explore his sexuality, he is still gay even if he never had sex.
