I prefer having subtitles than dubbing, which can often mean the actors are obviously saying things that don't match up with their lip movements.

What do you mean - "care about" them?
If the movie is in a language one doesn't fully understand they are pretty much vital.
They're also useful for people with hearing difficulties.

well, certainly when I want to watch a Foreign film in a language I don't understand, it certainly helps, eh?
I have films in my collection in Italian, French, Spanish , Swedish, German, Korean and Japanese.
Subtitles, surely help.
