What can cause a voltage drop along the circuit?

If you put too many loads on the circuit or the resistance is too high would this cause a voltage drop and can you tell with out using multimeter?

If you have too many LED lights on the circuit would the lights dim if the load is to much for the circuit?

Other than increasing the voltage what can be done? Is there too many loads on the circuit?

    When the current draw of the load causes a voltage drop of greater than 8%, it needs to be addressed.

    If you have a edison light bulb on that circuit you will instantly notice it dim.

    CFLs won't and many LEDs won't

    Your question is vague and not the real question.

    Ask the long question.

    What is the circuit?

    What are you using for power?

    What are you doing?

    What is the circuit doing?

    What makes you think it is wrong.

    Ask the question.

    It sounds like you have a string of LED's which are dim?

    LED's each have a voltage drop depending on color.

    RED is the lowest drop then yellow, green, blue and white.

    Some are doctored to equalize the drops. Yours should have a data sheet telling you what the Vd (vdrop)is in volts.

    If you string 10 LED's with a drop of 1.5v @ 10 mA each, in series you must use 15V @ 10mA to drive them. if they are dim then up the voltage which will increase the current but increasing the current too much will blow the weak ones. If the brightest one is really blazing  it will blow first.

    You also must limit the turn on current to keep from blowing them up.
