Upgrading PC ideas?
Not any time soon, but maybe in a year or two, I'm thinking about getting a new PC again. Here are my current specs:
Corsair Carbide 200R tower w/ two USB 3.0 ports up front, mic and headset jack
Asus M5A78L-M/USB 3
AMD FX-8300 @ 3.3 ghz
32GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 970
windows 10
Are there no new processors that allow for Windows 7? I'm only testing out 10 because I kept getting logged out of websites on 7. Like, I log into my gmail account, I click on Remember Me. 2 weeks later, I have to fill out my login information again to sign back in.
I never cleared my cache, never cleared cookies, never signed out. On windows 10, the random "being logged out of websites" has not happened. I say it's attributed to using Windows 7, a person in IT that I know, didn't know why it was happening. When I said about using Windows 7 being the reason, he disregarded the notion.
Should I go with ryzen, or back to intel? Just looking for ideas and input. Since YA is shutting down soon, figured I'd try to get some ideas. Thanks.
Dewcoons: I know support for 7 ended, I use Firefox, but the being logged out of websites so you are forced to move to 10, makes total sense.
David K: You're right. The technology is always getting better, I didn't even think of that.
Thanks for the answer guys, appreciate it :)

Hopefully you realize that Microsoft stopped selling Windows 7 in 2014, and ended all support for it in January of 2020. They are no longer updating it for any security holes or new viruses. Using Windows 7 is a major security risk. Your computer is wide up to every hacker and scammer in the world. Stop using the zombie version and bite the bullet and go to Windows 10. Otherwise expect to have your ID stolen and your accounts, etc. hacked.
The reason you may getting logged out of some sites is because you are using Windows 7 and the older version of IE. Those leave the sites open to hacker also if they let you in. So many sites are now blocking older versions of Windows or making them re-set their ID every few days to force them off Windows 7 and the old versions of IE.
