Is it appropriate or not appropriate for there to be mugshots of people arrested and/or incarcerated on the internet?

I personally don't want to see it in my search results.  I really don't care that some guy with no teeth and teardrop and scorpion tattoos all over his face was arrested while I'm searching for what to have for dinner tonight or looking for the latest family-friendly flick with my kids.

I'm not aware that people CAN be arrested and/or incarcerated on the internet.  But it they can, sure, yes.

Arrest are public information so it is appropriate.  If the arrests were all kept secret, this would become another dictatorship where those deemed enemies of the state would have no rights. 

I'm not sure. I don't think it is ethical for some websites which make you pay to have your mugshot removed, as this is extortion IMO.
