I have a relative named Doris.I am actually considering it as a possible middle name if I ever have kids and have a second daughter. It is not set in stone but a possible middle name.

No, I would not name my daughter Doris or Dorothy. Or Edna. Or Gertrude. Or Ethel. Or Maxine. Or any of those old-fashioned names that end with a hissing sound: Alice, Doris, Morris, Boris, Lawrence, Clarence, Eunice, Gladys, Lewis, Janice, etc.

That was my mother's name, and even she didn't like it and used a nickname all her adult life.
When we had kids, naming a girl after their grandmother was off the table.

Sure, if it's a girl and if Doris goes with the last name. Doris Morris would not go.

sure, why not. I don't see anything wrong with that name.
