Why did this even happen!?

Four days ago I bought my very own RTX 3090 and today it completely died? I am shocked and have no idea how a new GPU can die so quickly. I will have to wait for next week to call and ask for a refund but HOW and WHY can this even happen? I'm without a PC for at least a week now.

    might be the gpu didn't die but your power supply to it did.  some testing required ...

    i would take it to a computer store and ask them to fix it

    Could be any number of things

    Faulty component on the GPU

    Bad motherboard port shorting the gpu

    You used a cheap power supply with pig tails to connect the card and shorted it out
