I hope not ! the teaching of religion is not wrong it gives children  a  better understanding of whatever God they believe in opening them up to there faith teaches them where they came from  and gives them a sense of spiritual wellbeing , I wish it hadn't been removed in USA also I thing they should expand there teaching & let children learn about other cultures , not only would it be educational but it would help them decide what religion is right for them , to decide for themselves rather then having one more thing adults try to push on them just because they can't argue .

I have grandchildren who attend a British school. They are taught about Christianity but they also learn about other religions. That's the way it should be. If only one religion is taught and others are excluded, it starts to look like there is an attempt to establish a state religion that all people have to belong to whether they want to or not.

They seem to teach religions, but not atheism. I'm sure if they said atheists think anyone who believes in gods is mentally ill people would be offended.

No.  It is compulsory under the 1947 Education Act.

There would still be a need to teach principles of a free society eg freedom of speech.

British schools should go back to teaching Christianity only, the way it used to be in Britain.

Now these foreigners are moving in and telling us what we can teach.

Try going to one of their countries and teaching Christianity.

They would execute you to show how peaceful their religion is.
