About the 3 point arc in college basketball?
Did college basketball begin using the 3 point arc before the mid 1980s then they took it out then put it back in in the late 1980s? Because I watched the 1986 NCAA tournament final and there was no 3 point arc. Then I watched the 1987 NCAA final there was a 3 point arc. Then saw highlights of the early 1980s game between BYU and another team there was a 3 point arc.

The 3-point line wasn't adopted for the NCAA tournament until the 1986-87 season. Prior to that, several conferences used the 3 point line for games between conference members. But the use of the rule and the distance from the basket wasn't standardized until the NCAA formally introduced it.
