Because it simply isn't true.  This is just a way turds rationalize being turds, by claiming everyone else is also a turd.  A way of excusing their "sides" behavior.

Like when conservatives try to justify the many failings of Donald trump, by pretending his behavior is normal for politicians and people, as if all people discuss sexual assault in locker rooms or all business owners cheat and scam customers.

No.  My Senators and my Representative are fine upstanding human beings.  Yours, however are terrible.  And that's the way the Founders designed it.  My people only have to please me.  If we want to achieve anything big, our reps have to be able to compromise.

It's not about "all or none".  It's that kind of thinking that got us into this mess.  It's all about shades of grey (i.e. compromise).  That's how the real world works but somehow we got lost in ideology on the way to get things done.
