Is jeep wrangler considered an expensive car in the US？

No sir and they are pure garbage, any Chrysler product. Good to look at, bad to actually use. 

For a car from the 1940s with minimal creature comforts ( or even proper doors), it’s expensive.

MOST of the JEEP engines are PURE JUNK and they do NOT make then any! The STRAIGHT SIX was the BEST engien e they had! NOW they are using FIAT TURBO engines or the TIGER SHARK engine! which is GOOD! And the PENTA STAR V6 is ALSO made to EUROEPAN standards! But they had YEARS of VERY VERY BAD engines. it is KINDA like they use BENZ cars for TAZXI CABS in EUROPE but when they are EXPORTED they suddenly are VERY PRICEY for PARTS! I wil TESTIFY that BENZ and AUDI and BVMW parts are made to HIGHER STANDARDS than most! I worked on a JEEP with the 3.7 engien and it was a WEAK TINKER TOY and did NOT las very long! Teh NK! You are bette off getting A comparable TOPYOTA typ JEEP

A Jeep Wrangler expensive?  If you are making minimum wage, yes.  For an average corporate type worker, no.

Just looked at them at my nearest dealer ship, they averaging out at this lace between 40 and 55 thousand. I find that expensive, then again. I think the common 30 thou is expensive, is insane, for most "average" vehicles around here.

ALL CARS ARE EXPENSIVE. Is it a luxury brand? No. Is it unusually expensive compared to other off-road vehicles? No. Is it a well-made vehicle that is worth the cost? Not really - below average quality compared to Japanese made vehicles.

Not really. It's somewhat more expensive than people generally would think, but it's not an expensive car by any means. I know it is in other countries, though, not just Japan. In Europe, they're very expensive, like in the show Suburra, the characters are all rich criminals and driving BMWs, Mercedes, Maseratis, Lamborghinis, Porsches, etc., and one, the rich head of a crime family, drives a Jeep Wrangler. To us Americans, we see that and our first thought is: "One of these things is not like the others."
