Is death just sleeping but without waking up? ?

I know your unconscious but this still really baffles me every time because then what exactly do we see even though we won't know? Is there just blackness after death? That thought just thinking of it sounds frightening but then again when we die we no longer are conscious so what do we see? Is it really just oblivion?

When you're sleeping you're still breathing. When you're dead, nothing in your body is working anymore - especially breathing. I have actually died and can tell you that you have nothing to fear. I saw a meadow with unkempt grass and yellow flowers growing sporadically, I felt this massive love and peace. Before I died, I had trouble moving around - yet in that meadow I moved with ease - it felt so good. I took photos of my mums coffin at her funeral. I was surprised and comforted when I looked at them later and saw three orbs in a few of the photos. The lens wasn't 'dusty/dirty' nor was it a 'trick of the light' because I took a few photos of each scene and the orbs weren't in all of them. I know one of the orbs was my mother and I think the other two were her parents. That's another thing, you get to visit your own funeral (if you want to) and visit people you knew when you were alive. Please don't fret, death is just the next stage for your soul to pass - just like your birth was . . .

We remember nothing from before we were born. Ditto after death.

Not even close. when your dead, your mental consciousness is alive and well. You know exactly where you are, what's around you and how you got their.

Hi! You have asked a really good question about death. Fear no more! A lot of people have these thoughts about going six feet under, and it's a scary feeling in general. The Bible says concerning this in Ecclesiastes 9:10: "There is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going."

We know we will die, but the dead know nothing at all, Ecclesiastes 9:5.

So, one would simply pass away. Their thoughts in the mind will stop as well as the whole body. And our Lord Jesus Christ compared death to sleep as it was written in John. But wait?! Does that mean that we can wake up?

There is a biblical character in one of the passages in the Bible that asks about this same topic, a particular question. He asks "If a man dies, can he live again?" This exact quote is in Job 14:14,15. This continues on: "I will wait all the days of my compulsory service Until my relief comes." Did you notice anything at the end of the sentence? Until my relief comes. So, there is hope! In verse 15, it reads "You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands." Who is this "You" this verse is referring to? It's certainly God because he longs for those who pass away in death, his creation. He wants us to live! But how is that so on such a cruel world? Everywhere is war, pain, and suffering! Did you know that there is a future, more of a promise that God has in store for us, here on Earth? In Revelation 21:3, 4, it reads "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Do you think there will be any pain, suffering, or death in this promise for the future? Absolutely not. It's one of God's future promises, and I wanted to share this with you, this beautiful hope. This means we will live forever in a better world! If you want to learn more about this topic, I know a great and helpful website that is free of charge called Jw.org! This is where I got this wonderful information from, and it touches beautifully on this specific topic with details and based on Biblical knowledge. I even found this article for you!
