Is it normal that I hug a teddy bear in bed?
Every night I sleep with a teddy bear and I like to hug it while sleeping. I noticed it's more difficult to sleep without hugging something, particularly the teddy bear. The teddy bear I use was a gift from a sibling so maybe i have some feelings towards it and help me sleep in that way?

If you have no one to hug you, hug away on the adorable bear. Maybe even if you are married, the bear was a gift from someone you love, hug away.

“It's about having a sentimental attachment to things,” Hood says. “It's completely normal for adults to continue to have these childish attachments.” He doesn't see any harm in sleeping with a teddy, provided you're not obsessive about it.

People develop sleep habits and those habits help them fall asleep. I knew a guy who slept in the same sweat shorts every night for years, because they were his "sleep shorts" and that helped him fall asleep at night. Some people have stuffed animals, some have certain pillows, some listen to music, watch tv or have a "ritual" of doing certain things every night before bed. You might have sentimental feelings but most likely you've developed a sleep habit that just makes you feel comfortable.

I think it is fine if it is a comfort and helps you to sleep. I used to the same until I met my boyfriend!! I was in my thirties! Who cares!
