Why do people think the END is near?

Only God knows, not the angels or saints.

God knows the appointed time and hour.

Some people have been thinking the end is near in every generation for thousands of years. Yes, only God knows. In fact, God, in the Person of Jesus Christ, said that no-one other than God would know the time. So there is no sense guessing.

The Bible describes events and conditions that mark this significant time period. “The sign” is a composite one made up of many evidences; thus its fulfillment requires that all aspects of the sign be clearly in evidence during one generation. The various aspects of the sign are recorded at Matthew chapters 24, 25, Mark 13, and Luke 21; there are further details at 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 2 Peter 3:3, 4, and Revelation 6:1-8.

If you read the scriptures at 2Timothy3:1-5, it gives a complete summary of things that would be occurring in the last days.

The end of what exactly? The world never ends.

Ecclesiastes 1:4 KJV — One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

Ephesians 3:21 KJV — Unto God the Father be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

God is fictional.  It only knows what it's author knows.  And it's authors were primitive savages.

The END won't come for billions of years when the inevitable heat-death of the universe happens.
