What are hybrid hours?

When talking about work what does hybrid mean? I have never heard that before. Is this new?

New 'hybrid hours' means we're all staying home from now on because of COVID.

It means you work as a courier while using a hybrid gas/electric motorized bicycle that was built on a hybrid bicycle frame.

You posted in the Cycling section where questions are answered about bicycles. You relied on YA to post the question for you instead of doing it yourself. Use the edit icon to move your question to the Business & Finance>>Careers & Employment section.

Did you bother to follow the instructions from Yahoo?  Nope.  "Categorize your question in the appropriate category. You will receive better and more relevant answers."  https://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guideline...  Question belongs somewhere under the Business & Finance section.  https://answers.yahoo.com/dir/index?sid=396545013

A hybrid anything is a combination of two or more entities combined to make one.  Since you posted in the cycling (BICYCLE) section, that's how I'll answer.  A hybrid bicycle is similar to both a road bike & a comfort bike & sometimes even a mountain bike.  The tires are narrower than a MTB for faster speeds, usually with a semi-slick tread pattern.  But, still able to go across packed earth or on a manmade off road trail.  Pictured below is a 2021 Giant Escape 2 Disc hybrid.  https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/escape-2-disc-20...

In this pandemic era, "hybrid" work and school schedules refer to a combination of remote and in-person operation.

A couple private schools in my district, for example, are testing a hybrid schedule where 1/3 of students are in class, 1/3 are taking on-line courses and 1/3 are on break.  The sections rotate approximately every three months...in-class students go on break, remote students come onto campus and those on break shift to on-line classes.

Many companies are taking a similar approach with workers, offering a blend of remote and in-office work schedules and the ability to rotate from one to another.
