Spelling corrections.?
I get a bit irritated when Answers underlines some words to correct it to the American spelling. You would think they are clever enough to not do this on the UK and Ireland pages. Anyone else noticed this?.

Yahoo doesn't have spellcheck. Check your browser settings to deactivate it: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN3593.html

I'm about 95% sure that your browser has the "spell check" function. You probably are just using the default setting of "USA". I'm an American who lived in Europe for 8 years, moved to the UK for employment and lived there for 3 years, then moved back to Europe for another 14 years for good. I use a setting of British English on my Firefox browser as I have mixed contacts, British, American and others who read and write English but not as Mother tongue language.

Alas, complaining about it changes nothing. YA is based in the US and all English language portal questions are lumped together, so it's likely the spell check uses American English for suggestions across the board. It's easy enough to ignore the suggestion, just as it is for Americans who are using a word (intentionally) that the spell check doesn't recognize.

Is it Y!A that's doing that?
I thought it was my browser.
Whichever...there sure are a lot of (real) words that it doesn't recognize.
