If 200 mL of 0.25M sodium chloride solution is mixed with 50 mL of 0.4 M sodium chloride solution what would the concentration of the resulting solution be?

    (200 * 0.25 + 50 * 0.40) / (200 + 50) = 0.28

    Initial volume V1 = 200.0 mL

    final volume V2 = 200 mL + 50.0 mL = 250.0 mL

    initial concentration M1 = 0.25 M

    using relation M1V1 = M2V2

    0.25 M x 200.0 mL = M2 x 250.0 mL

    M2 = 0.2 M
