Confused about passwords.?
I get confused about passwords. Google, Microsoft, Any Answers, E mails, to name but a few. Can passwords work on more than one site, or would joining a site affect my other sites?. It is all confusing, any comments please.

I too become confused about all this password business. I don however really think that's the piss-poor communication used by the various sites to produce a safe system, but why the hell do they communicate in this pathetic computer speak gobble do ****? English is a far better method of communication, and far better known universally. Have you noticed that even when some of the more enlightened are tempted to issue their instruction in English, it's in broken English for some unknown reason. I wonder why ?
Could it be that by using computer speak Gobble de ****, they have developed a system that gives the devotee who learns this specialised bullshit a sense of n expertise when asked for assistance by ordinary mortals ?

In our case the password should be very careful especially if you have to use one then there will be no confusion and the biggest thing is to do second step verification for Security purposes.

You can use the same password to all those sites, although many won't agree for security purposes, as long as the password passes the criteria each site enforces. To be sure, use a password that contains at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, a number, a symbol (from the keyboard) and is 12 characters long.

Each time you log in to a site you will be asked for an ID and a password. If this is the first time you've logged in you will be asked to set up an account by entering an ID (usually your email address) and entering a new password (usually eight or more letters, symbols, and numbers...e.g., Im1goodboy!). And then you'll be asked to enter that new password again just to verify what you put in.
You will be asked for an ID and PW (password) for every...every...new web site you want to use. But...but...you can actually use the same ID and PW at all the other sites if that's what you entered when setting up the account. My point...yes the same password can be used for multiple sites, but you need to enter that same password each time you set up a new account.
I'm an experienced web user, take it from me password management can become confusing. So you best find and use a password management application like Dashlane. You can load it for free from Dashlane.com.

Passwords will work for the one account only, but can be used on any browser for access. You can use the same password for other accounts/services, but you need to register separately. Advisable not to use the same password for important websites.

Some passwords can work across sites, gmail, chrome, google drive and your google account can use the same password. Similarly your Microsoft account login can be used for Microsoft Edge and probably One-drive. The only dangers is that if anyone gets to know that password then a whole raft of sites become accessible.
You could just use one password for all your logins but that would be risky, perhaps a better idea would be to use a password manager such as lastpass that stores all your separate passwords for you.
