Those of you who live in a country that still has a monarchy what are your thoughts on it.?

The world has been getting rid of them. Less than a handful remains and they too are on their way out. It is high time to get rid of them in the U.K.

As a Canadian I like having the monarchy. Having an apolitical head of state is rather refreshing. The monarchy provides some stability since governments come and go but the head of state remains.

Monarchy is just another system of government that works.
All systems of government are imperfect and some more costly than others. I live in an all-elected democratic republic that is not doing well. Republicans do not want to work in a bipartisan nature, are openly racist, sexist, and pro-rich people--give the rich tax breaks, give the rich help that they don't need by taking from the middle lass and poor...in other words steal from the poor to give to the rich. We tax payers fund the private lives of all the elected politicians since we pay for their salaries. We fund their security.
Britain has a constitutional monarchy where the monarchy is mostly self-funded, with tax payers chipping in for SOME expenses, not all expenses.
In a constitutional monarchy, there is one branch of government that is stable, continuous, and above mere party politics.

It works really well, is super cheap, and there really isn't anything better.
In Canada, our Queen actually works for free. The cost of the Governor General, Lt/Governors, all their staff, etc., costs us about $1.50 each per year. Compare that to the USA, where just the president alone costs Americans about $6 per year. We get great service for quite the bargain!

It's foolishness and they look down on others. I think they are cold cruel racist.

I wouldn't want it any other way. I always have been, and always will be, a staunch royalist.

There is no point in it.
