Why are we not technologically more advanced than what we are today, since our sapien species is a few hundred thousand years old?
My kid asked me that..
I told her that it's because of a lot of things..
We didn't come onto the earth knowing anything.
We didn't even come onto earth preordained to be as we are today...
I'm not some sort of an archaeologist or something..
But I know that we started off with rocks, wood and fire..
Active participation in Science didn't really take off until remarkably recently..
Metal itself is only a few thousand years old..
We used pure metals back then, not alloys as we do today..
The use of Electricity is only about 150 years old..
We are only just 22 years out of the century that gave us Mass industry.
And here's another angle to look at it from ?
How old am I ?
How old do I look ?
When was I born ?
She said you look about 30..
I said I'm 34... I was born in 1986.
My dad is the person who raised me..
He died at the age of 73...
He was born in 1943..
Imagine that.. 1943.. that is pretty well headed toward 100 years ago..
He's the one who raised me... I was a kid, in his house..
I myself... Grew up until about 14 years old..without a computer.
I was born before the internet..
I remember the 1990s internet boom.
So we're about right where we should be, at this point in our human evolution.

Well, since mankind crawled out of the cave, they have been killing the meek and humble all over the planet, be it babies or adults. These are the ones that would have pushed man to new levels of clarity. I am a believer that when Man prayed for miracles and cures to diseases, these geniuses were born among us but mankind killed them in wars of conquest primarily. So we wait and this time ask God to protect them from evil too. It is Evil that delays our progress because those that have been in power do not have an evolved consciousness.
Imagine being an 18 year old Black male and in 10 years you will be the scientist to cure all forms of Diabetes but one night you were stopped by a racist trigger happy policeman who just happens to be Diabetic and will die from it in 12 years. The young man is shot dead because the dumb police man claims he was resisting and reaching in his pocket for a weapon.

... because we have psychopaths controlling the world for the last six thousand years. We keep being thrown back into "Dark Ages", as is about to happen again. By definition this is insanity, were it not for the mere fact there's an ulterior motive involved.

Societal collapse (also known as civilization collapse) is the fall of a complex human society characterized by the loss of cultural identity and of socioeconomic complexity, the downfall of government, and the rise of violence. Possible causes of a societal collapse include natural catastrophe, war, pestilence, famine, and depopulation. A collapsed society may revert to a more primitive state, be absorbed into a stronger society, or completely disappear. Virtually all civilizations have suffered this fate regardless of size or complexity

Because we only have agriculture for 10,000 years, when it was invented at the end of the last ice age. Agriculture is what enabled humans to spend their time inventing new things and learning about nature, because it frees many people from having to look for food daily. Also, some disasters in the past, such as the explosion of a big volcano, can darken the skies for many years, and it causes crop failure. Many empires have fallen as a result. When there is lack of food and lack of order, then technological advances grind to a halt. Who has time to look at the stars at night for example, when the belly is empty and a person has to rest up for a hunt the following day. Scientists now can make a connection between the explosion of a giant volcano in Indonesia and crop failures in many areas around the world, and the crop failures ended some civilizations and sent Europe into the Dark Ages. Because we have not had consistently good weather for the past 10,000 years, technological progress starts and it sometimes stops. Also, religion often play a role in halting progress. Look no farther than the early 21st century, when George W halted stem cell research and we lost a lot of progress because of that.

I also told my kid that a lot of complacency exists in technology as well..
This is the same kind of toaster as my grandmom used when she was 20 years old.
The more effective and more well it works..the longer it tends to stay the same.

There were a lot of years when people were starving and not very intelligent. For about 145,000 years, people were what we'd now call imbeciles and morons.
Then, about 50,000 years ago, something interesting called the "Upper Paleolithic Cultural Revolution" happened. Better tools were invented. Yay. That cultural thing spread to just about everyone.
...Even so, it was about 30,000 years more before someone came up with the bright idea of collecting seeds from food plants, planting those, and watering them.
With agriculture came larger groups, less starvation, specialization of career, trade, settling down in an area. Oh yeah, people were able to sit down and think, finally.
