Why is Yahoo Answers overrun by irrational people?
Is this an accurate representation of people's minds (mostly in America)??? Or does a certain type of person use this site? ...it gives me a headache- I can't think straight for hours afterward.

Most of those users are just trying to give you a headache. That is what they call "fun".

Yahoo staff stopped monitoring. and moderating the YA forums because Yahoo was laying of staff continuously because Yahoo Inc. was continuously losing money since the dot.com crash in 1997. Verizon bought Yahoo Inc. At the end of 2016. Essentially there was NO Yahoo or Verizon staff in control for 6 MONTHS while the server computers were on autopilot until Verizon took over Yahoo headquarters on June 13-14 2017. Verizon continues to lay off staff world wide.
All Verizon cares about Is making a net profit. Verizon KNOWS what is left of Yahoo Is worthless and so outdated that NO One will buy what remains EXCEPT Yahoo mail. Verizon also owns AOL.
You are essentially correct with respect to YA. The inmates are almost in complete control of the asylum, but therd are subtle hints that Verizon staff may be moderating YA after all. I am not the only one who has had a reported and deleted answer restored to the YA display and the 10 points restored WITHOUT appealing. That happened TODAY about 8 to 10 hours ago.
