If a six-year-old carries out premeditated first-degree murder of her own free will and acts alone, should her age excuse her?

Will excusing her bring her victim back to life? Will it make the bereaved family feel any better about the death of their loved one? Some punishment must be meted out to the budding psychopath, because she will certainly kill again.

Of course their age should excuse them. A child doesn't think and reason like an adult does. They lack the self-control. The thing about kids committing crimes is they feel terrible guilt when they are older and realize what they have done. The child needs a lot of therapy and counseling. I think juvenile detention until 18 and then released into the public is fine too... juvy usually straightens the kid out.
