If I am given a set of coordinates how do I determine if the figure is a parallelogram and prove using the slope formula for each segment?
Coordinates: A(-3,4), B(4,5), C(5,-1), D(-2,-2).
Slope of AB=
Slope of BC=
Slope of CD=
Slope AD=
Is ABCD a parallelogram?

Coordinates: A(-3, 4), B(4, 5), C(5, -1), D(-2, -2).
Slope of AB = 1/7
Slope of BC = -6
Slope of CD = 1/7
Slope AD = -6
ABCD is a parallelogram.

The slopes are 1/7, -6, 1/7, and -6.
So there are two pairs of parallel sides. It's a parallelogram.
You can make yourself feel better about it by drawing a picture of it, too.
