What is Cuba really like? Is it better for poor people than the U.S.?

There are some trade offs. They have the most advanced healthcare sector in the world. Their technology and research easily rivals that of the US. They developed the first immunotherapy cancer treatment in the world. Healthcare is free for all Cuban citizens and the poorest of the poor aren’t given lesser treatment. 

But food isn’t as plentiful as it is in the US. It’s cheap and nobody starves to death but there isn’t a lot of food to waste. Americans throw out millions of tons of food every year.
