I told my boss he is racist for only having 1 person of color hired. Was I right? Plz read?
We are a small manufacturing company with 17 workers, most of them have been here for 5-35 years. Lots of long term workers. I started working here 4 months ago and noticed only 1 person of color works here. I complained 3 times to my boss of this and earlier I told him strate up he is racist for having 16 white ppl and only 1 person of color.
Was I right for this? Is there any agency that I can report them to for their lack of diversity? I tried calling the media but no one got back to me

No you're not right. What is racist is a quota system where you're hired based upon what you look like not your skills or how your presence would add to the company's productivity. Besides, what you want to do is fire some Whites to bring in more Blacks?! Really?
Are you the Black person working there? If not, did it even occur to you to ask the Black person if they felt discriminated against or were you afraid that would have burst your discrimination bubble? Besides, if you're ballsy enough to get in his face on this, it it ever occur to you to ask how many Blacks have applied. Even if a few did, did that immediately make them more qualified for the job than any White applicants because of the color of their skin (and visa versa)?
Let's fire that 35 year veteran of the job to bring in someone with dark skin.

Why do you make such assumptions?
If it's a predominantly white area, there wouldn't exactly be a huge pool of applicants who are of color to begin with.
He also chooses employees based on who is QUALIFIED to do the job. Having black skin doesn't automatically make you more qualified.
