When will the pandemic end?

When will life return to normal without having to worry about social distancing, wearing masks, limiting crowd capacity, washing our hands, and taking safety measures from COVID? When will people stop dying from this pandemic? When will we see numbers go from down to 0?

The pandemic will end once vaccination is widespread. The disease will never disappear, there will be cases of it every year, but the thousands of deaths will reduce to a trickle. It is likely that, as with flu, vaccinations will need to be repeated every year to keep it under control. I think, however, that such practices as hand washing and sanitising will continue and people will be more likely to maintain social distancing with strangers. With the widespread use of vaccines, I expect things to be close to normal by Christmas but not if the anti-vaxxers have anything to do with it.
