CDC-compliant?

I have a box of CVS Procedural Face Masks that my mother precociously and presciently bought in the early 2010’s, probably to keep dust and odors away while cleaning house. Now I use them for you-know-what.

Nevertheless, as the picture shows, it never mentions it protects the user from viri, let alone “miss thing”. It of course “passes” in our society which doesn’t know any better.

But properly speaking, will 1 layer actually guard me against it? Is it CDC compliant?? I have my doubts. Better that than nothing I guess, but I have problems spending money on masks that are silent on the issue.

(I wont bother saying that I got a free colorful cloth mask at a farmer’s market: I know even less about that one/)
