How to I find information on a possible copyright?

I've searched & searched but cannot find if the song "Christmas Bride" is protected under copyright. I also cannot determine if it is protected by Royalty rights.

No matter where I search, there is no information on this song. While Ray Conniff recorded the song in 1959, he did NOT write it as some sites on the 'net' have stated. It was composed by Midge Jay.

How do I find out if this song is protected by copyright?? Thanks!!!

Update:

Midge Jay's son look through his mother's archives, & every song she wrote is in there, except Christmas Bride. His brother also searched & came up empty.

The song appears many times on Youtube., yet I don't see any notation about it

being copyrighted.

Kobalt owns the copyright.  You can contact MPL Communications about licensing:

Midge Jay died in 2009, copyright normally extends between 50 and 75 years after the composer's death so it's not in the public domain and still subject to copyright laws.

If you found the sheet music you were looking for it would have the copyright info right on it.  I had no luck hunting for it.  I tried too.

If all else fails. upload it to a you tube account. If there is any copyright involved, they aren't shy in letting you know.
