Why are so many banks closing ?

So what happens if you had your card lost or stolen? How do you withdraw cash if so many bank branches are closed permanently? The other week I dropped my wallet and couldn’t find it (my fault) but froze my account so no one accesses it but i needed money for the next week but my new card won’t arrive for another 5-7 working days. But all the branches are shut for good.

How am supposed to access my money?

My phone doesn’t print money.

The branches may be shut but the major one in your city won't be.

Banks close in areas where foot traffic is low, or when staffing is not sufficient for all to remain open

Many people use online banks & credit unions.  I almost never use cash either.  One time about 6 years ago I needed cash to get in to my nephews basketball game.
