Will this vaccine really stop this pandemic?
Will we stop wearing masks soon? Will we get rid of screeners at hospitals soon? Will this vaccine actually put an end to this pandemic? Could covid stay forever like the flu?

We are almost to herd immunity now anyways. About 5% of my state has had a positive test. There are probably five to ten times that many actual cases when you allow for people who get a little sick and just stay home to recover and asymptomatic cases. That pushes it to 1/3 to 1/2 have already had it.

We’ll have to keep doing masks until we’ve all been vaccinated

We will be taking Covid-19 vaccines every year from now on, just like the flu vaccine and probably as part of the yearly flu vaccine.
The current vaccine will not prevent you from getting or spreading covid-19 (just like the flu vaccine) but will help your body fight off the virus without (hopefully) putting you in the hospital to do it or cause you any severe symptoms.
I hope there will be some better treatments (over-the-counter) available eventually too, like tamaflu.

The vaccine will stop very little. Everything points to that the Covid IS the flu at this point, but a bit more deadly. It will stay a long time, yes.
