True, but not Iraq's oil.  Iraq was turning into another NAZI Germany invading its neighbors and destabilizing the entire region.

I used to call it Operation Iraqi Liberty - makes a better abbreviation.

Actually as I understand it, it wasn't so much to grab Iraq's petroleum.  The Iraq war was a neocon adventure.  Those smug SOBs thought they could sweep into a foreign country with a completely different history and culture than ours and remake it to suit them, and the Iraqi people would love them for it.
