Just put a piece of fabric over the aquarium until he is done.  Nothing to see there.

Nothing. Just relax. Snakes in the wild sometimes eat dead animals. I saw a gopher snake trying to eat the flattened remains of a rodent stuck on the road one night as I went herping.

Let him eat it. They do that in the wild if something isn't going down just right.
