If I were offered a scholarship to play basketball,and I ask that they give my brother or whoever a scholarship also,is that illegal?

    A scholarship does NOT work that way.  A scholarship is only offered to one person, the person who has proved they deserve it and has worked for it.  If your brother or someone else wants a scholarship - they have to apply.

    Illegal to ask, no. You could ask. But if your brother qualified for the scholarship he would have gotten it.

    It wouldn't be illegal, but you really have no right to ask. Your brother would have to either be chosen or would need to apply and go through the proper procedures, the same as you need to do. They aren't just going to hand a scholarship out over the counter because you ask them to.
