title of book?

hi! i’m looking for this book, i can’t remember the title or author but the cover was blue, and it was about a girl that got detention at the beginning for writing love notes for other students in her class. herself and her family then proceed to go on a road trip with family friends, where there’s a boy her age she detests at the beginning, but he grows on her. i can remember small details, like i think she goes biking and falls in a ditch? and there’s a character in it named cuba. does anyone know the name of this book? thank you!!
